I know that over a year has passed since you lost someone so dear. However, I know from experience that even with time, the pain remains. I wanted to share a few comforting thoughts that have sustained me through sad times. Often when we face tragedy, there is the lingering question of does God really care about us. It seems that the He does not, however, the Bible proves that this is not true. At James 1:13 we read that "..with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone." Death is evil so it does not come from God. However, the Bible tells us how he feels about us at 1 Peter 5:6,7. It says: "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time, while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you." Yes, he cares and plans to do something about our pain in the near future. I hope these scriptures bring you some comfort. For more comforting scriptures, please visit www.jw. org. Our God promises a time of no more suffering. This a promise we can fully trust.
